Night fell, and Capt. Deep headed to her room to sleep. The light from the port shone through the window along the back wall slightly, but she slept through it. Will was asleep on the couch against the opposite wall like he always was, but he seemed to be having a more difficult time with sleeping.
Capt. Deep noticed his constant tossing and turning so she got out of bed and walked over to him. She taped his shoulder, and he turned his head to see her. “Yes, what is it?”
“If you’re having a problem sleeping because of the light, then maybe you should sleep in the crews’ quarters as there are no windows there.” Capt. Deep suggested.
“Are you sure you don’t mind?” Will asked.
“Go ahead, I understand – after all I want you to sleep.” Capt. Deep said.
Will stood, thanked her, and then proceeded to the crewmate’s quarters.
Capt. Deep smiled as he walked up and out onto the deck, and then felt awfully lonely. She went back to her bed, and decided it was just like old times. The times before she and Will had met once more or the times before she had even known Will existed. She had been equally as happy as she was before she met him, so tonight would be no different. Besides, this was a temperate placement.
Capt. Deep found herself dozing off rather quickly, but her dreams were very confusing. Nothing made sense, and it was all just a jumble of mixed thoughts and random acts that had occurred throughout the day.
When she awoke the next morning, she found that Dennis and Bobby had already begun work on repairing her ship. She headed out on deck and saw that her crew was leaving the boat to help Dennis and Bobby she had heard them working just a minute ago however, the two were not on deck. She had heard saws working away at wood, but apparently not on her deck. The men were on the port, sawing away at a long piece of wood. Capt. Deep eagerly ran over to see if she could help with the repairs to her ship.
The crew was gathered around one spot, and Capt. Deep made her way to the front of the crowd. Dennis and Bobby were sawing at a long piece of wood, just like Capt. Deep had thought.
“Good morning captain! I’m sorry if we woke ye!” Dennis called to her.
“It’s fine, but what are you doing out here why aren’t you in your workshop?” Capt. Deep asked them.
“Well, we wanted to be as close t the ship as we could, but if we went on deck then there was always the danger of the hole leading to the galley.” Dennis said.
“Well, then let’s hurry up with my mast, gentlemen. I have plans that need to be fulfilled.” Capt. Deep ordered them.
