Just another day

♥Risa Kurosaki♥
- 'Oh no oh no!' Today was just not her day. First she somehow slept through her morning alarm, then she forgot one of her schoolbooks at home, and now she was running late for the first club meeting of the school year. Towards the end of of her first year Risa had gotten in the habit of arriving at the meetings either on time or a bit early to try and help set up. She calmed herself with a deep breath. It would be okay. Hopefully whatever new members they were getting would not get a bad impression of her from not being on time. Her parents had instilled in her from a young age the belief that first impressions were quite important.
"Hey Risa do you-" A familiar voice broke her out of her self-berating trance.
"Sorry I'm in a bit of a hurry!" Willing her legs to walk faster, the redhead hurried past a friend of hers in the hallway. Now was not the time to let herself get distracted. She knew the other girl well enough to be sure that she would text Risa later with whatever question she had. It was most likely something to do one of their assigned homework.
Risa could feel excitement coursing through her when she caught sight of the club room door. She remembered her first day a year ago and how nervous she was. Joining was one of the last things she would ever regret doing in her life. This club was like a home away from home for her. A place she knew would always accept her for who she was. She could not help but wonder though...Would she be able to positively impact the lives of the new members? Like Kaname had for all of them last year?
Adjusting the two elegantly wrapped boxes she was holding to balance on one hand, she gave the door a quick knock before making her way into the room. "Excuse me." A fond smile found its way to her lips as she observed the group of students before her. This was it. A new year, new members, new memories. "I apologize for my lateness." She gave a customary bow before making her way over to the makeshift table to place her boxes in the center next to the cookies. "It's so nice to see all of you again," she directed at the other old members of the club before turning her attention to the new faces in the room.
Risa instantly recognized the first girl as Shizko Oonishi. The two of them had spoken a handful of times last year and Risa was not one to forget someone with such a unique style. The second girl seemed faintly familiar but Risa could not think if they had ever talked to each other in the past. She was pretty sure she had seen the other girl passing by in the halls before. They were in the same year as each other right? Lastly there was a girl Risa could not identify at all who appeared to be foreign. Risa felt her heart skipped a beat in panic. Her English was horrid and she could only hope it would not get in the way of them becoming friends.
"I'm Risa Kurosaki, it's a pleasure to meet you. I do hope you all enjoy your time here. " She greeted the girls with a warm smile then motioned towards the boxes she brought with her. "I wasn't sure what everyone might be interested in so I ordered an assortment of pastries and an assortment of finger sandwiches." She delicately unwrapped and opened each box for the group, presenting the contents within.
