So today was basically like an "All Exam" day for me since I needed to have my Music Theory quiz-out done today and I also had my saxophone jury. Well I got to school early and started work on my quiz-out immediately. Within an hour, I had totally ripped it up and passed that sucker on Allegro (The equivilant of a midrange A). I was feeling freakin' awesome at that point.

Then I went into a practice room and I sat down with my scales and my etudes I had to play for my jury and I practiced for somewhere close to three hours. I had my majors in fourths nailed at about 92 and my Etudes were rockin' something fierce.

Later on at 5:00 PM, I go in for my jury (Ten minutes EARLY, no less!). Dr. Musco, Dr. Adams and Mr. Bishop were all there waiting and so, the tension mounted. Dr. Musco is usually hard with scales and always makes sure to give you something ridiculously hard...Last year for instance, she made me play F# major in thirds. Uggh...This year though, she gave me F major in fourths! I stood dumbfounded for a moment before realising I had to play the scale and, I nailed it. Then Mr. Bishop (My professor) says, "How about Ab?"

I'm your student, damn you...How could you do this to me?! So I try to play Ab in fourths and I get up the scale and partly back down. I screw up and start over. I do this repeatedly and in typical Me style, I get flustered and try to relax. Bishop just says, "Let's move on" and makes me go onto my Etudes. The Etudes went pretty damn well except for my one uncoached Etude where I kept holding the eight notes too long at first. I got through them all pretty well though and the Marcel Mule Etude...I NAILED that sucker and all of the arpeggiated patterns in it were perfect.

All in all...Today was a great day and it's another day closer to Saturday and my afternoon/evening with Brittany. whee

Now I just have to get past Sight Singing and Keyboard tomorrow...
