she aproached Will the next day, with a different expression than usual. "whats wrong?" he asked instantly. "how do you feel about pirates?" she asked. he seemed blown back by her question. "your a pirate, arent you? and your my friend. how should i feel about them?" he replied. "we cant be together forever. your father is my worst enemy." then Will remembered. "you're captain........ deep?" he asked. "you - you mean thats who ive been talking to all this time?" capt. deep nodded. "i saw you and i wanted to know you better. but i cant. my crew has given me three days to leave for treasure. im torn between two things that are very improtant to me." he seemed to have ignored everything she had said. "when i was a little boy, you killed my grandfather. i swore to be like my father and i would kill you unless he did first. i wanted to be there when you were hung. i hate you. i always have." capt. deep's heart sank. she could never have him now. "but i see you differently now. you're a good person, no matter who youve killed." capt. deep perked up a bit. capt. deep had to ask him now. it was almost time for his teacher to come. "this wont work, but i have a favor to ask of you."
