I saw this today and I’m going to do my best to write my thoughts about it without revealing anything. So don’t be surprise if I’m vague, that’s to keep people spoiler free but let people who watch it know what I mean.
The film was excellently done and I had an awesome 3D experience while watching it. I’ve seen other 3D movies but nothing as good this one. Everything really does pop out at you, adding to the excitement and action. It’s one of those films that incorporated the 3D effect nicely, to the point where it doesn’t take anything away from it.
The film itself is not bad but it’s also not that amazing. To me, it did do a good job at entertaining people. But when you look past at the fact that it wasn’t boring, you’ll notice that the storyline was weird and not that great. At least to me it seemed that way and it wasn’t what I was expecting either.
It was focus on action then telling a story, which was seriously lacking. They could have done a lot with it but they went for a basic plot that didn’t really add to the whole story. Plus, there was some plot holes that raise a lot of questions. I really wish that they had worked more on the story and on character development.
I was glad to see previous dead characters return to the screen. It was really nice to see that they were worked into the film but I feel that some characters were just thrown in there to please fans. Again, if they added some character developed it would haven’t have seemed like that. I watched the film with my sister and she, like many others who haven’t played the video games weren’t sure who those new characters (Ada, Leon, Barry, etc.) were.
As for the ending, it’s a cliffhanger for sure. It’s left open for another film to come out but at this point they should put an end to the franchise. There’s just so much a film can take before it becomes boring and the characters or even the world can’t take anymore.
After all, how can any character or side win if everything and/or anyone has the upper hand and/or is capable of evolving into something stronger. It’s going to be an endless cycle and it will led to the world becoming completely destroy. If the world doesn’t explode then there’s not going to be anything left. Regular people don’t stand a chance. They will die, sooner then the super powered people and even then, those super powered humans have their own limits. It’s only a matter of time so I don’t see what else the filmmakers have left to work with.
There are some aspects of the film that I enjoyed but I noticed that people are getting mixed reactions when it comes to it. Some hate it, some liked it but most are in the middle. I happen to be in the middle. It was a so-and-so movie, not terrible but not amazing either.
