All artists have a problem with people taking their artwork and posting it up on sites without their permission. Even worst is when the thief doesn’t put a source on where they got it and who the artist is. That’s why as a fellow artist I never reblog artwork unless it contains a source of where it originally came from. But another problem is when people take someone’s artwork and edit it.
They don’t have the right to take it, nor do they have the artist permission to do that in the first place. The artists do NOT want their hard work to be edited. If they wanted it to be edited they would have done it themselves. But it’s upsetting when they see a fanart or some other type of artwork of their’s taken and edited. Sometimes those thieves who do that put their own watermark on it so that other people won’t “steal” their edit of the artwork.
That’s stupid. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Respect the person who drew it. Let their art be seen as they intended it to be seen. Otherwise, all artists will start heavily watermarking their artwork or even deleting their accounts and never post anything up again.
