(Unnamed Chapter)
As I turned the corner into the lab, I saw four things that most humans will never see in their lives. That is, unless, we succeed here. As I turned the corner, I saw three figures working on what appeared to be a machine of some sort. One of the figures heard us and turned around. What I saw was astonishing. In front of me was a humanoid being, for the most part. The being had absolutely no hair on it's body whatsoever, and it's skin was a pale gray-blue color. One of the stranger things, however, was the clothing. I guess technically it's not clothing, but it looked as if someone put rocks in a cotton candy machine. The garments were dark brown in color, and had distinct fibers that were stretched out to make up the garments themselves. But perhaps the most striking feature would have been the eyes. Lower and farther apart than humans, the eyes were all pupil. Just a disturbing black hole that showed no emotion. Ears were nonexistent, as the shape you know. This creature had two simple slits on either side of it's head, in a cross. It turned back to the table and made a clicking sound, that had many layers to it. Then the other two figures turned, looking almost the same and dressed in the same stretchy rock. Their bodies blocked the table from view, however. The middle figure scanned the group and spoke. It had a deep gravelly voice, as if his throat was sandpaper. It spoke very hesitantly, as if trying to find the right words, gesticulating with hand motions as well. "Hello, Earthlings. I am Olec. This is N'taya," it said, gesturing to the figure on the left, who nodded, "And this is T'alia. We are the Raven ambassadors to Earth and we want to learn more about your species." T'alia stepped forward and said "I'm sorry, we cannot speak language well yet, he our...." she scowled on frustration. "Translating." she said finally. Her body was more streamlined than Olec's, her skin slightly darker and voice higher. N'taya resembled T'alia more than she did Olec, and remained silent. This is when Natalia stepped through our small cluster to the front of the group, and the three Raven shrank back defensively. "I am Natalia, translator for the humans between the species." Olec was the first to regain his composure. He nodded to Natalia and deliberately ignored the two who started clicking to each other rapidly behind him. I watched closely and suspiciously, as is my nature. Natalia calmly gestured to the table as she said "My friends and I are dying to know what you three are working on." Olec's face fell into a morbid blank expression as he stepped aside to reveal what was on the table. "This," he said grimly "Is the end of the universe."
