“Richard! Richard!” Professor Oak was crying out to him trying to get him awake oh arceus.. They were moving... He lost his consciousness again. Again he awoke but he found himself not in a forest house but the pokemon center where a doctor was taking his pulse.
“wha.. what happened?” Richard managed to force out, he felt weak for some reason... he had never felt like this.. not since.. not since when had he felt this way before? He couldn't place it and tried to relax.
“You collapsed we got you to the Pokemon center in Cherrygrove.. They said it was exhaustion.. “ Professor Oak worriedly told Richard.
“Well..I feel fine..I think I'll just rest here tho..” Richard said through a forced smile as he closed his eyes..when he felt something touch his hand.. it was Clint's hat.. Richard managed to look to the side to see Clint still there with him like a true friend.
A few hours later Richard had regained most of his strength and was getting out of the bed. “I hate hospitals..” He shuddered.
“How do you think I feel partner!” Clint the chikorita let out a husky laugh and stretched out, “ Well I recon Elm is a tad worried by now don't ya think?” Richard nodded and couldn't help but stretch as well when his phone began ringing.
“Richard! Some-one stole one of the Pokemon We need you to stop him he's going your way he has-” As Elm was bellowing out the phone the signal was lost. Richard had all his bars so it must have been Elm's phone..
“I guess I should attempt to help him at least I'm guessing they have a starter..but then again he coulda gave one to a different trainer and the remaining was stolen..ugh so complicated..” he rubbed his head at this conundrum and managed to think up himself. He grabbed his bag and ran out the door with Clint at his heel. When he reached the entrance to Route 29 he encountered a Young man who seemed to be about 15.. He had long red hair and a cold air to his black eyes. He wore a Dark purple jacket with a crimson outlining on the sleeves, and cuffs. He also wore Black jeans and Black boots.
“Your the kid who got Chikorita..” he began.. and thus instantly marked himself as the thief.
“Give back what you Stole! I'm sure for a simple chore he'll let you have it anywa-” Richard was cut off by the other man.
“Pokemon aren't a simple reward, they are tools of destruction!” he growled at Richard, “now come on and lets put our tools to the test to see whose is better..”

This would be Richard's first trainer battle in this area... now would be the time to put to the test the bond that he and Clint have developed! Clint sized up the man's Cyndaquil who seemed to obey every order that the man gave it. Richard wondered if this was out of Fear, respect, or friendship but now was not the time to think of that. “Use Razor Leaf!” Clint responded by quickly jolting to the side of the Cyndiquil and spraying it with the sharp leaves cutting it noticeably. It was already game.. Clint managed to get the weak point of the Cyndiquil and used to it his advantage and got a critical Hit.
The man ran to the cyndiquil and returned his pokemon and rushed to the pokemon center..dropping his trainer card. Clint picked it up and looked at it before returning it to the man.
“We'll see just how this goes...Elix” Clint tipped his hat at this and went to Richard. “The cyndquil was fighting for him, so we may as well go tell Elm the bad news and deliver the egg..he might forget this even happened..”
“Good Idea Clint, lets get going before they become a pest and come back for seconds already haha!” richard was proud of Clint and his ability to battle...and he managed to regain some self confidence even if Clint did all the work, he helped in a way at least thats how he seen it...and it was also how Clint seen it as well. They made their way to the lab.. with-out any problems.
