Fiat iustitia et pereas mundus, et ruant coeli...!
Benadryl Gives Me Trippy Dreams
I dreamed, last night, that my family and I had gone to Japan. It began with my mom, dad, brother and I being trapped in an glass elevator with other people, unallowed to leave, because outside of it, people were sick. A thought ran through my head. Nowhere is safe.... Nowhere in the world.

The dream contained a series of flashbacks. The first flashback was of my family and I eating lunch at a trendy restaurant. A man behind us began to cough up blood. Japanese peace-keepers (doesn't feel right calling them cops) came and took the man away. My family and I began to leave the restaurant, but soon after, a boy began to get sick. As we were walking out of the restaurant, we noticed loads of more sick people, and blood dropping from the ceiling, just in small droplets. (Which I believe may have come from the sick peoples' respiration.)

The next flashback was of what believe to be the night before. My family and I were in our rental house (like an actual little house on a street), and my dad was telling me that the old Pokemon games had drastically risen in value. We were laughing and having a good time just chatting.

Back in real life, the elevator finally opened, but I was separated from my family. I found myself on a mo-ped type thing, riding it throughout the building (and it was a huge building in this dream). Throughout this part of the dream was a male narrating about mopeds, saying something like, "I noticed that some have kickstands while others don't..." At a point in this part of the dream, the traffic (yes, there was traffic) in the building came to a stand-still in a hall. I jumped off my mo-ped and began running with some schoolgirls, but we had to stop, too, because a man who I'd seen in earlier parts of the dream (wasn't mentioned above) had a gun. He killed himself.

I somehow managed to escape the building and made it back to our rental house, where I waited for the rest of my family to appear. I saw a neighbor across the road come out his door and look at me, where I sat on the steps to the house. He told me something, which I can't remember, but I know it was very important. He left, and a lady I didn't know pulled into the driveway. She saw me, then left, but soon after, my mom arrived in a white Chevy Impala. Only my mom came. We went into the house, and then the state of the dream changed again.

My mom and I were sitting on large stone bricks -- enormous, to be honest -- in a hillside in a jungle. There was a long drop right beneath our stones, at least 100 feet, if not more. Below were ruins of some sort. I pointed downward and said to my mom, "Nowhere is really safe." Below us were apes or gorillas, a herd of them, running, trying to leave as fast as they could. My mom asked me, "What do you mean?" And turned around and pointed up above the trees. You could see two of the Egyptian Sphinx idols, which appeared to be close up (although in real life, jungle and the Sphinx aren't geographically close). Behind the Sphinx was an enormous brown cloud. "Dust storms," I said. The storm got closer, larger, ripping off the head of one Sphinx and smashing it against the next, getting closer to my mom and I. In slow motion, my mom jumped. I remained sitting where I was, but thought, "When we die, I want to die with her." So I jumped after her, yelling, "I love you". She said, "I love you, too." And then, as I died, I felt a light, fluttery feeling in my chest.

It's time to wake up...

And I did.

It's funny, because the other day, I told some friends how Benadryl gave me strange dreams, most of which I die in. Benadryl (Diphenhydramine). Wikipedia says this about it:

Like many other first-generation antihistamines, diphenhydramine can cause strong sedation, due to H1 receptor antagonism. As such, diphenhydramine has also been used as an anxiolytic because of this side-effect. It is also a potent anticholinergic agent, leading to the side-effects of dry mouth and throat, increased heart rate, pupil dilation, urinary retention, constipation, and, at high doses, hallucinations or delirium. Further side-effects include motor impairment (ataxia), flushed skin, blurred vision at nearpoint owing to lack of accommodation (cycloplegia), abnormal sensitivity to bright light (photophobia), difficulty concentrating, short-term memory loss, visual disturbances, irregular breathing, dizziness, irritability, itchy skin, confusion, decreased body temperature (in general, in the hands and/or feet), erectile dysfunction, and excitability.[9] Some side-effects, such as twitching, may be delayed until the drowsiness begins to cease and the person is in more of an awakening mode. Diphenhydramine also has local anesthetic properties, and has been used for patients allergic to common local anesthetics like lidocaine.[10]

The most important part of this is where it's stated that Diphenhydramine, in high doses, causes hallucinations or delirium. So I wonder, is this why I have such strange dreams? I take Benadryl to go to sleep. I've done this for many years, because I am an insomniac. These weird dreams have only recently begun, or I've only begun to notice these patterns.

But what I'm concerned about is that I've been told when you die in a dream, you die in real life. I'm not dead yet. This is the kind of thought which is so vexing to the soul.

Why? That's all I want to know. Why?

Honestly, I'm kinda flippin' s**t right now. xD But I had to put this somewhere while I still remembered it. It needed to be preserved.
