I finished it! It's fairly short as completed series go. Of course, this is also a guy reading through Naruto and Bleach, so short is a broad statement.
The chapters in it start at about 8 pages, then slowly work up to around 17, getting, occasionally, 20+. But, overall, even though it has many chapters, it's still very short.
The story is about a girl and her little sister, Kyou (14) and Asu (9), respectively, who live alone. Their mother died when they were young, and their father wracked up a huge gambling debt. It begins to involve more people, but focuses very much on Kyou and Asu.
This is a straight slice-of-life manga. There's no romance. There's no climax. There's no huge conflict. It's just the two of them thrust in this situation trying to make do. The comic focuses mostly on how the girls trust each other. Actually, the theme of it gets quite redundant.
I enjoyed reading it, and finished it. If you enjoy slice-of-life, check it out. It's alright. If you want romance, action, etc., this is not the one for you.
Parental Disclaimer: There are a few scenes where they are in the bath house. However, there is no suggestiveness in the scenes. Proper spots remain covered, ad covered well, I might add. ^_^ Made me happy to know it's not all smut out there in the manga world.
No language, no sex, no violence. Very clean book. You can share this with your mama.
