Name: Ayleth Sayua Gender/Sexuality: Female/Heterosexual Date of Birth: April 15th, 1285/825 Place of Birth: England “Home”: Theodosia, and her villa in Italy on the coast Citizenship/Nationality: Citizenship of Canada, Britain and Spain—see other Race/Ethnicity: Siren Height/Weight: 6’/140lbs Eye color: Black Hair Color/Quantity: Black, straight, to waist Marital Status: Single Pets: A piranha fish named Mariel Occupation: Communications Professor at Theodosia Academy. She has been there for the longest of them all—since it’s creation. No one really knows why she hasn’t left yet though. Hygiene Habits: Clean to the extreme. Her desk is always tidy, and she has a bit of an OCD about keeping dust out of her keyboard and cell phone. Her showers aren’t long, but they’re thorough, and she never takes baths. Her hair is always neatly combed, and her teeth brushed. She washes her face every night and clips her fingernails regularly. Sleep Patterns: Ayleth sleeps like a rock. Her sleep is very important to her, just another step in her regiment for beauty.
Dream/Nightmare: Ayleth’s dreams consist of thoughts of dark water and choppy seas, large wooden ships just within her view. Her nightmares include her apartment after a party, messy with foreign items strewn about, and crumbs in the keyboard of her laptop.
Favourites: Ayleth loves sweet foods and sea food of almost any sort. Tuna sushi is one of her favourites, but she is also fond of octopus and squid, both of which she can no longer have due to their recent extinction. She also loves her piranha fish, Mariel, who enjoys her own little tank in her apartment. She loves clothing and fashion, but isn’t fond of makeup. She listens to classical music only, reminding her of a time long past.
Obsessions: Her laptop, her fish and herself. Ayleth is vain to the extreme, and loves nothing more than to sit in front of a mirror and try different hair styles all day long. She loves her laptop because of the access it gives her, as well as how it lets her do her work. It’s a modern invention that seemed impossible at the time of her birth, and for centuries afterwards. The glowing screen of the laptop and her cell phone sometimes entrance her, leaving her sitting and staring at them for hours. Her fish, Mariel, is also a favourite of hers. No one seems to know why, however.
Frustrations: Goody-two-shoes type of people, hot and dry weather, messiness
Secrets: Her fish, Mariel, holds a special place in her heart, as it is named after a man she grew to love. He died hundreds of years ago, of old age, but Ayleth was by his side on his deathbed, although never married to him. She returned to the sea after his death for quite some time, and can’t bring herself to forget him.
Handicaps: Ayleth needs to return to the water at least once a month for an entire day during the night of the full moon. This puts a bit of a dent in her teaching schedule, but is necessary for her survival. If not done, she will die.
Other: Ayleth is a citizen of three countries: Spain, Canada and Britain. She was born in Britain, but moved to Spain during the 1300’s, where she participated in piracy and amassed a fortune while governing her own fleet of ships. She was successful because her voice successfully lured men to their deaths as they jumped ship, attempting to reach her. Her own crew used wax to stuff their ears to block out her magical song. She bought herself an Spanish citizenship, and though Britain and Spain both complained about her during her years of piracy, she never gave up either citizenship, or lost it. Later, she sailed the seas during the end of the golden age of piracy, and during a particularly bad storm, her ship was destroyed. She found herself on the coast of Canada, eventually, and settlers took her in. Upon confederation, Ayleth found herself with yet another citizenship and a third nationality: Canadian.
Ayleth is a fabulous singer, but refuses to do so. Due to her race, her song will cause devastation to those who listen.
Her blood has a blue tinge to it.
Ayleth has numerous siblings, which she does not know. Her parents, being immortals, had numerous children. At the age of 10 though, Siren children are abandoned by their families, and urged to expand their world on their own. Ayleth resents her family for abandoning her, and as such, often has feelings of anxiety. She doesn’t make friends easily because of her abandonment issues, and hides behind a curtain of cruelty. Coupled with her life as a pirate, Ayleth is vulgar, offensive and cruel. Picture
