In Brisbane - Queensland! Death toll: 12 and climbing Missing: 67 but numbers are fluctuating Towns affected: 32 Chinchilla facing a peak of 7.8 metres. Ipswich flood peak revised down to 20.5 metres. Brisbane river still rising from the flood coming down the stream and the king/high tide coming up the river. 106 roads in Brisbane City closed. 3584 people in evacuations centres. 1500 people evacuated in Ipswich centres and expected to double overnight. Brisbane Inner-city Bypass closed. All Brisbane hospitals in operation but for emergencies only. Electricity is turned off in all flood areas. 70,000 without power in South East QLD. 56,000 without power in Brisbane and Ipswich. 2 bodies found in the Lockyer Valley during a rescue and search today. And for some of the towns, like the Brisbane CBD, the flooding is most likely to rise overnight and may peak tomorrow.
In Melbourne - Victoria! Horsham has been flooded due to heavy rain overnight. Businesses and Homes in Horsham have been sandbagged. People forced to evacuate in Natimuk. Heavy rain caused landslides on the Great Ocean Rd. A major pipeline has been uprooted. All the Catchments are on Flood Watch. Flood warnings to areas around Loddon River, Avoca River, Wimmera River and the Murray River. Ocean Wind Warning for South Eastern residental areas. I live close to one of those Catchments, i'm just not sure i'm down of the Catchment or above it...i'm a little worried. Not what i wanted for my birthday on Friday, i hope i skip the flooding, but i have my doubts...
