Today was the joyous Christmas Eve's Eve,
everyone having a trick up their sleeve.
Planning to set up for the big day,
telling young children to go "hit the hay."
Adults hanging up their last minute decor,
asking performances to make an encore.
Singing Christmas songs about the years of the past,
hoping the holiday spirits will last.
Children playing in the melting snow,
kids helping wrap with the finishing bow.
Parents scolding their kids about being wet,
But we all know that Christmas is not here just yet.
