I walk along the gravel track
A hedge between the paths, wind to my back
Glowing trees hanging over head
And passing flashes of white and red
My vision turns to grey and black
Twilight on the busy track
The deafening noise of a brief passing gale
And my body billows out like a ships sail
Its raining now, I feel it flowing down my face
As memories flash by of your fading grace
I walk through a velvet curtain into the solid night
The angry noise, the blinding light
And the battering wind force me to fight
The rain is falling harder, it’s soaking my shirt
And my feet are bleeding, from the coarse gravel and dirt
I stagger on; hand out stretched as I chase your fleeing image
When I see the twin lights approach and my body is thrown away
Slowly standing I look around and see a flashing blue
But above all I hear from a crowd, a voice; holy, lonely you
A hand lands upon my shoulder and pulls me away
A cold bony hand it was, until I saw it no more
And everything faded to black, with a last view of life
