Reading Stranger Than Fiction, i came across a thing with Juliette Lewis where she asked a question along the lines of, "Are you a cat person or do you resent their independence?" It's a really loaded question, which annoys me, but even more annoying is her claim cats are independent. If cats like you, they follow you everywhere. They love attention. They are social animals, who like hanging out in the group. The four of them just spent the evening napping where they could keep an eye on me and each other. Two of them are currently fast asleep in a cuddle ball. you live with cats and they come rushing when you get home so they can do the ritual reestablishment of the social group. You lie down, and a sedimentary layer of cats forms on your person. Cats are not independent; they are just more socially complex than people generally give them credit for.
