I was a corpse, flowing through the nile, drunken from the high tide of our dead and forsaken youth;
I understand that some of us never had a chance.
Under a witches moon I feel the waves in the river,
Violent and yet they are relieving.
I'm under water,
"Help me!"
I'm to my stomach in water,
"Save Me!"
I'm under water,
"Who's there?"
I'm to my knees in a catastrophe,
A hand to reach out to?
I have a chance.
"Thank You.."
But how long until I forget?
Never.
Not you.
When you see me,
I will have been cleansed of that ebbing,
I will sleep without the nightmares of
red tides.
I will shine brighter than ever.
Perhaps..
Or maybe this is just the dream I've always dreamt,
Maybe I've drowned a long time ago.
In my time as a fisherman I was beyond the fish
but not the lake.
