I thought the pain was gone
I fooled myself
To believe that I was over you
I pretended to like someone else
But it was only temporary
As soon as I saw you
The pain flew into my chest
Its cold gripping claws
Squeezing my happiness away
I thought I could fight it
But the more I smiled
The more it hurt
Your laughter made me want to cry
My stomach wanted to heave
I couldn’t believe the pain
It was worse than I’ve ever felt.
