I continuously dunk him under the water, shaking him as he gasps for breath.
Kumori: “Oh…I forgot why did I waste my time acting mortal?...Ha!”
I drop him. I step back holding my hands out. My hair blows in the wind. The water in the fountain starts shaking. Masaya tries to get out. The water holds him down tightly.
Ichigo thinks: “Why aren’t I doing anything?...Ah…”
She looks over at Louie noticing the red marks on his arm and sores on his hands. He has bags under his eyes. He still looks fine. What?...He’s never had those tattoos. WOW! He’s so nice and great but he’s a bad boy.
Kisshu kisses Ichigo.
Kumori: “Feel the pain! The pain you’ve caused us!”
Masaya: “Uh…I don’t care! Just let me go! And I don’t hit women!”
I lean in…I lean on the fountain.
Kumori: “Uh…I know but Deep Blue would!”
Masaya: “He’s not in me, any longer.”
Kumori: “Yes he is! He’s part of your soul.”
Ichigo: “What?...”
Kumori: “And killing yourself won’t do anything. My sister Ichigo I will keep with someone who really loves her. Not like you, who was created to lover her.”
I start panting…
Masaya: “But…NO! NO! She and I are going to be together!”
He stands up. I fall to my knees. I look down at blood on my hands and his sword in my heart. His eyes glisten as he pulls it out. Louie gets up running over to me as Masaya puts the sword into my neck. He stops.
Louie: “I shouldn’t have let her fight this alone! Why am I so stupid?!”
He holds my cold body in his arms. He starts to cry. Droplets hit my face as he slowly sinks his fangs into my neck. He slowly bites his lip…the blood falling into the mark.
Louie: “Why aren’t you living again?!...WHY? I returned your life…PLEASE!!!”
Kisshu walks over to him. Taking Louie’s hand.
Kisshu: “You must summons Moonshi out or she will die! The spirit will leave her body and…don’t die! You can’t! NO!”
He starts crying.
Moonshi: “Someone need me?”
She glows greenish-blue. Walking over to my body. She nudges her head against mine.
Moonshi: “Time to wake up! You have people waiting.”
I lift my head up.
Kumori: “Huh?...Okay…Uh…Louie? Kiki? Uh…is Ichigo, Okay? Oh, have you slayed Masaya, yet?
Ichigo: “I’m fine.”
Kisshu: “What happened?”
Kumori: “Moonshi helped save me by showing me some things.”
I push up Louie’s sleeve.
Kumori: “You’ve…I see…”
I get up, looking at Masaya.
Kumori: “Louie let me see your katana.”
He hands it to me. I take it, cutting the pillar holding up the tree in the middle of the fountain.
It falls. The tree lands on Masaya.
Kumori: “He’s not dead, yet. Our job’s not done. Let’s leave. Let’s do this later on so that Ichigo doesn’t have to see this.”
I close my eyes, teleporting us back home.
I look over at Ichigo.
Kumori: “Don’t worry; he’ll be fine in awhile.”
Ichigo: “Okay…”
She looks at Louie’s arms. The tattoos and cuts are gone.
Ichigo: “Why can’t I see your tattoos and cut marks?”
Louie: “Oh I can make them disappear, see.”
They appear and disappear.
Louie: “And whichever ones I want to do.”
Ichigo: “That’s cool!”
Louie: “Kumori can do it, too.”
Ichigo: “How?”
Louie: “The mix of the vampire genes with the animal ones.”
Ichigo: “If I got “turned”, as you put it, would I be able to do that?”
Louie: “I don’t know…we have a different animal gene.”
Ichigo: “What?”
Kisshu: “I altered and improved the Mew Mew gene. That’s why Louie’s body is fine. Also, they are more powerful and of course there are the other extras they have.”
Kisshu: “Like Moonshi and Kemuri.”
Ichigo: “Who’s Kemuri?”
Louie: “He’s like Moonshi; sort of…he’s part of my soul, like Moonshi is Kumori’s.”
Louie: “Come out and join our family, Kemuri.”
Kemuri leaps out from Louie’s body. A dark smoke-like dust follows him. He looks at Ichigo.
Kemuri: “Thank you…for freeing me.”
Louie: “Wow, buddy.”
Kemuri lies next to Moonshi.
Ichigo: “Aw…they are so cute together!”
Kumori: “Yea, LOL”
I look at Louie’s arms…I sigh. Cuddling up in them, I fall asleep.
Ichigo: “Aw…look…you two match, LOL!”
Kisshu: “You do!”
Louie: “I…Yea…”
A few days later:
Louie: “Jin called. He found out that Masaya’s fine.”
Ichigo: “Oh, good!”
Kumori: “Where’s Moonshi?”
I look under the bed. She’s nestled in a pile of blankets and clothes.
Kemuri: “Aw…she’s so cute! She ate all of my food…no wonder she’s so sleepy.”
I look at her. My ears twitch and the middle of my eyes glow.
Louie: “What is it?”
Kumori: “She’s dreaming. She accidentally made mind-contact with me. She was talking about you, Kemuri.”
Kemuri: “What’d she say?”
Kumori: “He-he…she was moaning your name.”
Ichigo: “What?”
Kumori: “You don’t want to know! I wonder…Huh…”
Ichigo: “What’s this word?”
She points to a line in a book.
Kumori: “You are trying to read an English book?”
Ichigo: “Yea…it’s hard to read.”
Kumori: “Oh…so you know a little English?”
Ichigo: “Yea I do.”
Kumori: “Cool…I can help you, if you need it.”
Ichigo: “Thanks.”
My ears twitch.
Ichigo: “What’s wrong?”
Kumori: “I don’t know…”
Louie: “Listen to Moonshi’s heartbeat…vampire-style.”
I listen…
Kumori: “Her heartbeat is different.”
I use my vampire ability to see her veins.
Kumori: “Where do those little veins go?...Oh my God, I should have known from the nesting!”
She covers my mouth.
Moonshi: “Spill and die!”
Kumori: “What am I not allowed to say?”
She uncovers my mouth.
Moonshi: “It’s still soon, okay? I don’t want anyone freaking out over this!”
~Mind talking~
Kumori: “If it was me…I’d tell them and Louie would rub my belly and take care of me and we’d look for baby things…”
Moonshi: “I know, but I want to tell them, okay? Just let me find the right moment.”
Kumori: “Okay, fine…but don’t take too long.”
Louie: “What are you so giddy about?”
Kumori: “Nothing.”
Moonshi: “Leave this mind-chat!”
Louie: “Aw…Moonshi did something…Aw…”
~End of mind-talking~
Louie hugs me.
Louie: “I wonder…”
Kumori: “What?...”
Kisshu: “Louie and Kumori were sitting in a tree…till Louie made them some ba-ba-babbies!”
Louie slaps Kisshu. Kisshu slaps him back.
Kumori: “Ugh!”
Ichigo: Yea!...”
She looks down at my belly.
Ichigo: “Just asking…are you pregnant?”
Kumori: “Huh…why? I’m not, no…”
Ichigo: “I’m sorry…I was just thinking with all that’s been going on.”
Kumori: “Like what?”
Ichigo: “The shopping trip. To be honest, you have gotten a little big there. Oh and Louie’s attitude…the belly rubbing and how he always gives you big portions of food.”
Kumori: “Oh…I understand. Wait, he gives me more food?!”
Ichigo: “Yea and the candy.”
Kumori: “Oh, WOW!”
I blush…my ears bend.
Kumori: “LOUIE!”
He blushes then takes his hands from my waist.
Kisshu: “Boy got some kinky likes.”
Louie: “SHUT UP!”
I’m blushing deeply.
Ichigo: “Aw…look…her neck’s turning red.”
Louie: “Huh? Aw…she’s embarrassed.”
Kisshu: “I know and you want to change the subject.”
Ichigo: “Aw. That’s so cute!”
Kisshu: “What is?”
Ichigo: Louie cares so much for her and has a naughty side.”
Kisshu: “WOW, yea! Good choice of words.”
I hear a knock on the door. We all turn and look. Louie answers it. Arrow walks in, Pai is behind her. She sits on the end of the bed.
Arrow: “How have things been?”
Kumori: “Fine. What about you?”
Arrow: “Same here.”
Pai looks over at Ichigo and Kisshu. He has a faint smile. He sits down slowly.
Kisshu: So how are things at home?”
Pai: “Good…how can you stay her all the time?”
Kisshu: “Because I love Ichigo.”
Pai: “Still, I can’t stand it.”
Kumori: “Shut up! We all know the planet has been ruined but there are some good things.”
Pai: “Still and don’t talk to me like that!”
Kumori: “Whatever. It’s corrupted from the streets to the government, but you deal with it or try to change it.”
Pai: “Still…”
Kumori: “Calm down.”
Arrow: “Uh…”
Kumori: “Arrow…do something!”
He grabs my wrist. I grab his wrist. The bone makes a breaking sound. He lets go. I let go the slap him.
Kumori: “I told you to calm down!”
Pai: “Control her, Kisshu.”
Arrow: “Watch what you say and Louie’s drunk…so…”
Pai: “Watch your woman!”
Arrow smacks him.
Arrow: “Hey, leave me out of this!”
Pai: “Very funny, honey!”
Kisshu: “Why are you so uptight?”
Pai: “I guess because I don’t get enough time with my Arrow.”
Arrow: “Aw…”
Louie glares at Pai. He holds me close.
Arrow: “What up with you two?”
Kisshu: “Pai can be an a** and Louie’s protective…really protective when he’s drunk.”
Ichigo: “It’s kind of cute…look…”
Louie’s spread out around me. His ears standing up, his eyes barely open, his tail wrapped around part of my waist. He looks up at me, trying to stay awake. He cuddles into the sheets and me.
Arrow: “Aw, that’s so cute!”
Kumori: “He won’t go to sleep; I tell you…you’ve got to trick him into it.”
I play with his hair. He closes his eyes. He slowly falls to sleep.
Kumori: “Aw Baby…rest.” “He sort of had or has another girl. I don’t know…I don’t like sharing my little guardian…you know he hides the fact that he works out from me. He works so hard and I don’t want him over-working himself. He even gives me his food, if I want it. God I love him! I love his hot body, but…”
Ichigo: “Aw!”
Kumori: “LOL…I should put some fat in his food! I really like his body but man he works himself too hard!”
Ichigo: “Aw, yea. That’s so sweet!”
Kumori: “I did that to Kisshu before. LOL”
Kisshu: “What?! When?”
Kumori: “When you were fighting Ichigo.”
Kisshu: “You did?”
Kumori: “You were so stressed, you lost ten pounds. That’s bad given you are so small.”
Ichigo: “That’s true.”
Kisshu: “Not all of me.”
Kumori: “I know, baby.”
Louie lays his head in my lap.
Kumori: “Aw honey…rest and sleep.”
Ichigo: “That’s so cute!”
Ichigo thinks: “I wonder why I’ve chosen to stay here. I thought I would have run by now…”
Kumori: “Aw, let’s go out tomorrow!”
I look out the window.
Kumori: “Do you want to be part of our team, Ichigo?”
Ichigo: “I don’t know…let me think about it.”
Kisshu: “Huh?...”
Moonshi: “It’s been awhile since you last worked.”
Kumori: “Oh…I know…Louie won’t let me, in that line of work. I keep getting shot too much.”
Ichigo: “What?...”
Kumori: “Yea.” I sigh.
Moonshi: “Huh?”
I hear a knock on the door.
Kumori: “I’ll answer it. Pai and Arrow are asleep.”
I unlock the door.
A man: “Flowers for Kumori.”
I take the flowers.
Kumori: “Who are they from?”
The man: “I don’t know.”
Kumori: “I feel light-headed.”
The man takes off his hat and says: “Good!”
Kumori: “What did you say?”
The man: “It’s Masaya.”
Kumori: “Damn you boy! And I won’t touch the flowers, they’re poisonous!”
Moonshi: “Damn you boy!”
Masaya: “Then fight…”
Moonshi: “I can’t right now…GOD!”
Pudding: “Where are they? There’s Masaya! Let’s get the evil ones….Huh?...”
Moonshi: Give me the flowers.”
Kumori: “I can’t…Oh crap…they’ve been grown from silver compound!”
Moonshi: “Give them to me!”
Ryou: “Just do it!”
