I just watched my best freind die,
I was in the crash myself.
I saw her believe a stupid lie,
And now she's not herself.

For two long years, my best friend stood by
While I went though the hardest times of my life.
She watched me mourn, laugh, rile, cry
And even cut my wrists with a knife.

But alas, it's true. My best friend is dead.
I watched her burn to ashes myself.
And though the memories are what I dred,
Etched in my head, they're on a special shelf.

Although the secrets we shared were intense,
Although I gave her all my secrets with glee,
Although the pain may be insanely immense,
She is, and always will be, completely dead to me.

This is part of the first poem I ever wrote, not only in my journal but ever (outside of school, and no I wasn't practicing or anything). This is actually published in a book. I was like, 1 of 200 entrees across the US(or maybe if was just California, I could be wrong) selected to be published in the book. I believe it was published in 2009, but I could be wrong. I unfortunately have no idea of the name of the book is called. Something with poetry in it... I 'm pretty sure it was yellow. Anyways. I keep publishing this not because I'm still hurt by it (though I do think about it from time to time), or because it was what completely turned my life around, but because it is my first, best, my proudest, and my favorite, poem.
