I stood in front of my friend Haseo Kimu’s giant machine. Haseo was a mad scientist. Je claimed that this machine in front of me could take me to a parallel universe—thus causing my alternate self and I to switch places.
Because of one of this machine’s functions, I was already able to speak with my alternate self. We began talking to each other about a week ago, thanks to Haseo. My alternate self and I had agreed to make the switch today…if Haseo’s “exchange” part of the machine actually worked.
This particular parallel universe was one where “I” had never become an orphan and “my” parents had never been killed. According to her, the following is true of her parallel universe self:
-Her name is Feeya (the name I was given at birth, before I changed it to Ratt)
-She isn’t legally blind like I am (my eyes went near-blind because of an injury)
-She is cheerful and emotionally expressive
-She goes to school
-She is a ninja
-She is carefree
-Her animals have no fighting skills
And I was about to go into her world.
However, she is more similar to me than Future Ratt and/or Calista.
“Get in position,” Haseo ordered.
“Alright,” I replied, nodding. I stood on the platform.
“1…2…4!” He pulled the lever.
Everything swirled around me before going black…

Thoughts of an Orphan

We’re talking about when we met and you say it was easier to fall for me thinking (I'll remember this pause) it was likely I’d be dead by now.
