Twins, John and Philippa Gaunt, in this story line find out they are dijinn (not to be confused with genie- offensive term in their eyes). Dijinn in this case are fire made beings that have magic. They might grant wishes if they prefer, or if captured in a bottle.
Anywho these twins go on amazing adventures through out the series, to Egypt, the Amazon, India, Babylon, and many other locations. They grow in power and character and along the way run into good/bad characters and situations.
The writing is by P.B. Kerr, well known adult auther. This is his first children based series and it shows. The language can sometimes be questionable. Even I had to yank out a dictionary once or twice to understand what he was saying but he weaves a fine story and in the end thats all I'm graviated to.
really good books. (5 in all- so far).
