On Valentine's Day I took my lil sister to see Percy Jackson and was disappointed. The book was a conciderable amount better. Obviously Percy Jackson is a boy who finds out that he is a demi-god; demi-gods are half god half human.
There was no explanation through out the movie, beside the obvious points on the greek mythology. In the book they failed to mention the fog. Fog is what prevents humans from seeing anything weird going on. If two gods are fighting in front of their face the fog will only allow them to see two men with guns angry, or a poodle instead of Hades hell hounds.
Point of the matter is if you've seen the movie don't be to quick to judge the book. The language is slow and easy for the younger kids but its quick and doesn't let your attention waver.
Bit too much like Harry Potter though. Boy finds out that he's a demi god (wizard) and get sent to special camp (school) and goes through an adventure. But still good.
