The Contest.
I'm doing that music contest I mentioned.
I'm torn between which theme to go with.
On the one hand, I have
Musing, which is a working title. My teacher said it makes him think of Middle Earth; it has a Celtic thing going on, but it's got some swirly, watery sounding synths and distortion. Crappy explanation, but. Basically, think of Irish mythology; a serene night; Stone Henge. With synths.
And then there's
Doctor Tungsten's Orchestrion Abomination, which is meant to be like...
this, sort of, though unfortunately without vocals (against the contest guidelines).
I need to pick one and stick with it. Which?
There
are two contests... but I need to pick which one to do for the March 12th one soon.
Also, while I'm linking you guys to vids,
this is what the full orchestra (of which I'm a part- on bassoon, not bari sax) is playing for NYSSMA this year. I'm a little frightened >_> but so far, so good.
