Hm.
I've had the urge to do three specific vocal/piano pieces lately. All three would require me arranging the music.
One is Mistress Mine, a song from Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night, sung in the story by Feste, the bard dude. Since Shakespeare was no composer, it has no written music- only lyrics. So I'd have to think of something for piano.
The second is a little easier to manage, an Irish folk song called October Winds/Castle of Dromore. There are notes for it, they don't sound quite right on piano. They were probably meant for a bouzouki or a harp, so unless I hit the keys a certain way it wouldn't get the sound of strings plucking, which it kind of needs.
And the third is an old Scottish ballad called Twa Corbies (Two Ravens). Which is just an amazing damn story, if tragic. But it's a great story, so I really want the lyrics to be included. I already wrote an intro for it, but I haven't been able to think of anything for when the lyrics kick in.
I'm not really a vocalist- it's kind of just something I've used on occasion if I thought a piece called for it. I want to do these songs with vocals because I love the meanings of the lyrics, not really to show off my voice.
But uh. I might record them, if they come out decent.
