Around and around
on the merry-go-round you played.
You ran to each animal
while in one spot I stayed

You had a fun time
each ride was a blast
A different animal
always better than the last.

I'm gonna guess the tiger
caught your eye.
you wouldn’t get off
although you tried.

You loved everything about it
the color and the look.
But then you saw me
thought I came out of a storybook.

You hopped off the tiger
then climbed onto me.
One ride you only took
because something felt empty.

You needed the tiger.
Yes, you did like me.
The tiger may be fierce
but it made you happy.

So back on him you went
and the ride started again.
But what you didn't realize
is this ride never ends.

I waited and watched
patiently staring.
Whenever you fell
I stood there caring.

You've thought about getting off this ride
thinking its better away.
But every time I saved you,
convincing it is worth it to stay.

I've always been here for you,
always will be too.
Other people may get on me,
But the person I'll wait for is you.
