Name: Narisa Age: 21
The daughter of a fallen angel and mortal woman, Narisa was cast out when she was a mere toddler. Captured by religious zealots, Narisa was used as a make-shift deity, forced to watch victims be sacrificed before and bathed in their blood. Believing that she possessed monstrous powers, her retainers casted curses and spells on her, wanting to use her as their weapon for a prophesied war. After ten isolated, and mentally crippling years, the priests decided that a war was never going to come. Broken and deranged, the sight of of blood reduced her into a shrieking mess. Drums too, is another catalyst for her. The sound of drums reminds her of the sound of the sacrificed victims pulsing heart as it was removed from their bodies Fearing that by keeping Narisa their souls would not find peace after death, they removed her title of deity and replaced it with demon. Calling upon the religious fervor of their followers, the priests and others went on a rampage throughout the land, purging every village they came upon of life, claiming they were under Narisa's demonic spell. Having used her as a scapegoat for their deeds, Narisa was condemned to death by the holy Guard, a powerful religious group that controlled the realm. Death, however, was not her fate. Unable to die thanks to her father's legacy, the Holy Guard cast Narisa into a realm they created to contain their 'mistakes'.
For eight years, Narisa was trapped her shadowy prison, only being removed when the Holy Guard needed her. Unfortunately for her, a mortal child blessed with magic, accidentally fell into her realm. At first fearful that the child was a trap, Narisa let him shriek and cry for in the darkness. Realizing the child's innocence, she allowed herself to approach him. Having never been around a kind person, Mika was confused as the child clung to her and continued to cry. In an attempt to make the child stop, Narisa shoved him away. Not knowing her strength, she used too much power and the child fell and cut his arm. Seeing blood, Narisa went into a nightmarish frenzy and intentionally killed the child. When the Holy Guard discovered what she had done, they punished her by forcing her out of her prison and made her witness a religious purge of a village considered to be 'sinful',
At twenty-one, Narisa has hardly ever been outside the confines of her prison. Having been kept alone for so long, Narisa's mind is moderately broken and occasionally sees/hears things that aren't really there. Still visited by the Holy Guard she see's herself as their puppet and yearns for death. Not knowing of any other form of life, concepts of love and friendship are beyond her. All she knows is pain and how to deliver it to others. If she was not so corrupted by the Holy Guard, she would have made the perfect sociopath.
Abilities: Though she has wings, Narisa seldom uses them. The price to use them involves inflicting sever damage to her back, and can only maintain flight for a short time. Hand to hand combat is where Narisa excels, though she sometimes relies on the use of her onyx dagger. As for magic, Narisa can summon balls of energy, at the price of her own strength. When outside of the shadow realm, Narisa can summon other demons to her aid, though this ability is otherwise blocked by the HG.
Appearance:Broken wings from when she was a child and have them damaged during a ritual. The strings that circulate around her body are the strings of fate of all those she has killed.
The Holy Guard
Created during the Dark Ages, the Holy Guard were originally religious men who promoted the idea that they shared a special bond with God. Assuring citizens that if they prayed to them, their prayers would reach God and the plague would lifted from the land. Once the plague had disappeared from Europe, the Holy Guard started preaching that God only struck the land with the plague due to the sinners of the world. Losing favor with society, the HG went under ground and devoted themselves to God, swearing that they would rid the world of the impure to ensure their places besides God once in heaven.
By the late 1600s the HG began looking into the realm of the supernatural, using dark magic to accomplish their unholy task. Deciding that by using demons and other ancient creatures, the HG would no longer be directly taking the lives of others, hence dirtying their hands with blood, they scoured the earth for creatures to enslave and use as puppets.
In the early 1800s, the HG was called out into the mountains. A group of religious fanatics, ones whom the HG later purged the world of, had been worshipping a small girl they had originally viewed as an angel but now believed her to be a demon. Having sacrificed many, the religious tribe had been waiting in earnest for a predicted war that never came. Dreading ultimate corruption, the priests had led their people on a rampage in the girls name. Having murdered hundreds, they passed the blame off to the girl and asked the HG to pass judgment.
Passing the verdict of death, the HG were astonished to realize that the girl could not be killed. Seeing her a useful tool, they banished her to realm of their own creation. Trapping her in their realm, the HG only summon Narisa to do their bidding when they feel the need to exercise their power. In her 18th year, a young boy possessing magical abilities fell into the shadow realm. The Hg was aware of this but felt that the boy deserved to die since they believe that only they deserve the gift of magic. They allowed Narisa to kill him, later blaming her for the boy's death.
