“People around here call me Lei'Lanii, it means rose of heaven but just call me Lei is easier to say.” She said in a whisper almost too quiet for them to hear but they could still hear her.
Nikki got up and walked over to her as she was just sitting down. “That’s a really pretty name” Nikki complimented. Something stood out and was glowing just the slightest bit of light on her left wrist that looked like a tattoo. “What’s that?” Nikki asked getting a closer look at it.
As soon as Lei looked down to see the mark glowing she jumped up and covered it up with her hand. “I have to go” she said in a rush then disappeared from the spot. All that was heard was the branches of the trees moving as she jumped from tree to tree.
“What was that about?” Volroc asked confusingly looking at each of the trees that moved. They just couldn’t seem to keep up with her. “damn shes fast. Faster than maybe even me” he turned towards nikki and smiled. “lets go get that pendant” he said trying to act normal but it never worked nikki always saw right threw it.
“V tell me whats wrong now” was all she could say.
“Its nothing” he said trying to sound confident of his answer. He just stared at the ground probably deep in thought. It was silent for a while well just until Nikki couldn’t take it anymore.
“Volroc I hate it when it gets quiet like that! And you know it!” she said sounded annoyed or pissed which ever one.
All he could do was just stand up and walk to a nearby tree that Lei was leaning against. He took a deep breathe in and let it out. There’s something about that girl that tells me she’s keeping a huge secret, he thought to himself as Nikki kept trying to get his attention. Nothing seemed to work though he was just stuck in his thoughts. That’s when he had a flashback of something he couldn’t remember happening.
He saw himself walking down an old passage way that had candles so it wouldn’t be too dark. There wasn’t a single noise except for his own footsteps echoing threw the hall. But when everything seemed completely quiet he heard someone else’s footsteps behind him that were walking faster than his own.
The faster he turned around the faster he realized he met Lei before it was her walking behind him that night everything started. Does this mean she’s part of the group he thought to himself.
The deeper in concentration he got the more he could see the surrounding items in more detail, like the symbols on each door. What do they mean? Without paying attention he bumped into Lei knocking her down. “oh im so sorry” she said looking up at him then smiling. “I wasn’t paying any attention” then with one leap she was back on her feet again.
