They started walking together with Volroc in front just in case something came flying out from the waterfall, that’s what always seemed to happen when Nikki got too curious. Nikki clung to volroc’s arm like she always did in times like this.
“Don’t worry you wont get hurt with me around” he whispered to her so she would relax more and loosen her grip on his arm. And it worked perfectly she slowly was loosening her grip as she got more and more relaxed. They were about three steps from the waterfall and they could see the amulet perfectly. “That couldn’t be it. Could it?” Volroc thought out loud as he got a closer view of it.
As Nikki tugged slightly to get volroc’s attention, he was too concentrated on the amulet that was behind the waterfall. “what is it V?” she asked him sounding a little bit worried since she couldn’t tell what kind of expression he had in his face. “V tell me!” she said a little bit louder.
It was silent for a couple of moment as Volroc studied the amulet closely to make sure it wasn’t dangerous in any way. “hold on” he said as he got his arm back from nikki’s grasp and walked right up to the waterfall as the amulet began to glow and was even more visible threw the rushing water than before. when Volroc turned around and was smiling nikki knew there was nothing dangerous here. Maybe something that would help them figure things out.
So nikki started walking towards Volroc again trying to get a closer view. Then she felt something hit her face, it was a small rain drop as more started to fall from the sky. “ah I love the rain” nikki said as she looked up letting the rain hit her face. “hey Volroc can you do my favor?” she asked quietly.
Volroc moved away from the waterfall knowing that they wouldn’t be able to get the amulet for a while until he makes sure the area its in is completely safe. “sure what is it?” he said as he got closer.
“Can it stay like this forever?” Nikki asked a little shaky. “I don’t want this to change. Me and you are like brother and sister I haven’t felt like I belonged in a long time and I owe you so much for doing this for me”
This time Volroc didn’t say anything he just hugged her and nikki knew that would be a yes. “thank you” she whispered.
“Come on nikki I don’t want you getting sick lets get somewhere that’s out of the rain” he said leading her out of the water and on to the ground. She just nodded and followed him. They only walked for about a few minutes before they found a small cave that looked abandoned so it should be safe to sleep in for the night. “would this cave be alright for tonight” he asked her.
