8.Live like you will die tomorrow
There are so many things going on in this world, people talk about so many things, and people go about everyday as if it’s just a thing to do. But they never really think about death until it’s right in their face. Then some people change how they look at things. We should live everyday like it was our last. Life doesn’t last forever. Take in every sweet moment like it was the greatest thing in the world. Someday you may even regret taking everything for granted. On the last day of your life, would you carry all of those grudges around with you, or would you sit that person down and truly talk to them? Would you love those you took for granted with all your heart? Would you be there for the one that needs you the most? I try to do this everyday, and I’m still learning. Yeah, we make mistakes, it’s human nature, but we learn from those mistakes. And God never said that there wouldn’t be pain in this life. Believe me, even after learning this stuff, I still have pain, and sometimes, love actually intensifies it.
I try to check up on my past friends that I don’t see anymore. It means a lot to them because you care enough to still call them. One time I called an old friend, and he was suicidal, and I was able to talk him out of it by telling him these things. If it weren’t for that simple phone call, I may not have been able to save him.
Everyday is a gift, and not a given right, whether it’s a bad day or a good day. We need to be able to see things and notice things, and make everything count. Forgive your enemies, love with all your heart, and make everyday count for something, even if it’s a small thing like opening the door for someone, or helping someone out. Sometimes, I’ll see a teacher carrying a lot of stuff, and I’ll offer them a hand. Sometimes God tells me to help someone out, and I don’t, and I feel bad for not doing it. Any little thing counts. We only live for so long, and we got to do what we can to give heart out.
