This is a poem for my grandpa, who died nine years ago today. This is a poem to say I will always love him, though I never knew him.
Grandfather
I said,
what is this?
This shade of red,
is it love for the dead?
Does it matter, red?
No,
No,
No
Grandfather,
Today is the day that you will pass on?
To angels and god,
So let's go,
Come on,
No,
No
No
Grandfather,
Though I've got no memories to lose,
I can't forget when I would play with you,
though I can't remember,
Mom would drink booze,
and you would all ooze on the chairs of the living room.
No,
No,
No
Grandfather,
I remember you called me 'Mousey.'
You thought my real name was funny
When really, it was Macy.
Grandfather,
Don't you go,
And leave me all alone.

Your shriek of pain,
And the tears you cry,
Is my Vein,
My lullaby.
Still you never say goodbye,
And I still have to wonder why,
You want to make me cry.
So just stop your lie.
Though it seems hard to get by,
We can do it,
Sweet Lullaby.
