I finally got the ingredients together to bake a cake from scratch, and it turned out tasty. The frosting took a long time to make, and was more of a pain than the cake itself, but it tasted good and was worth the effort. The cake lasted about a day between our house and my aunts house, so my family really liked it. One down from my list of desserts I want to try, a whole lot more to go whee I would like to aim for 1 a week, but doing them at all is good enough.
