I was ready to snap. Mizuki one of the so called "leaders," was babbling on as usual. It confused me along with Kazumi as to why Kabuto would ever want her to help us with our "Quest," I mean not once had I ever seen her do anything classified as "evil." Then again it's not my choice to choose who will be one of the leaders in Kabuto's quest for domination. While I was looking outside one of the windows I saw Kazumi entering through the gates behind her followed two vampires and three humans.
"Yay!!! More friends," cried Mizuki. I rolled my eyes she was twenty-one and was a complete ditz she still acted like a five year old in my opinion. She has light red hair and laughing red eyes and no matter what she always seemed to be smiling.
"Come on Hikaru don't be rude time to welcome the guests," she sang while skipping down the hallway. I sighed. Everyone thought that I wanted the world to be ruled by vampires like Kabuto did, but I didn't. To me I was a monster, I too became a borderline vampire like Kabuto,Mizuki, and Kazumi and I hated it. We had to act like innocent vampires while we lead other vampires to our prison, and most were killed from the transformation or became one of us. In very few cases Kabuto just killed the ones that were not easily manipulated. In my opinion they were stupid, no one got out alive or completely the sane. Just recently Kabuto took another vampire's soul and I have no idea what he plans to do with it. Usually I try to avoid my brother not wanting to be given the task to lure more naive vampires or humans here. What Kabuto does disgusts me and the more I stay here with him watching all the things he does to the innocent only makes my hatred for him grow.
When we finally neared the Kazumi and the new prisoners I noticed the two vampires were in the senate both seemed to realize where they were and what would happen to them. The human girl and boy looked mortified, the boy was trying to remain calm I had a feeling that they were dating.
While Mizuki babbled to them, I went up to Kazumi.
Kazumi has brown-red eyes tat reminded me of wood and white-silver hair that reminded me of steel, she never smiled and kept her hair short in a short bob.
"How'd you manage to get all of them here this time," I asked with my eyebrows raised most of the times you were lucky if you could bring just one vampire back.
Just then Shito emerged from behind her, he was in the form of a small puppy. I glared at Kazumi, I knew that most of us had to use some sort of distraction to get people to follow us but why did everyone use Shito to do that?
Kazumi looked at me her eyes remained emotionless. "He comes in handy you know especially when you need to lure people," she glared at Shito who was now in his usual form of the common fire hound. "The only problem is he only obeys you, it took me forever to get him to cooperate." I snickered.
"That's because Shito is my partner not yours, and besides you can't control hounds so they barely will cooperate with you,"I sighed. When were they going to get it Shito was not a simple dog he had a mind of his own.
Kazumi remained calm."Maybe next time we can get more prisoners if you go and besides not all of us are gifted with the affinity to control such unruly creatures, so therefore you should use him whenever possible."
I glared, I didn't like luring people here because it meant you basically were their killer.
"Oh yeah Kabuto wants you to go to his room he needs to give you a new assignment,"she said looking at Mizuki with an annoyed look on her face "That girl is such a ditz that with her luck she'll kill herself while using her power," she mumbled.I chuckled whatever power Mizuki had it probably was something powerful if she was here.
I left Mizuki and Kazumi with the prisoners while I went to Kabuto's room, Shito got up and followed.
When I got to Kabuto's room I saw him sitting on his crimson chair that reminded me of a throne I sat down on a regular crimson stool, Shito sat down by my feet.
"You said you wanted to see me," I said nonchalantly.
"Yes brother I called you here because I need you to do something very important for me," he said while his snakelike blue eyes looked at me expectantly.
"What is it exactly that you want," I asked confused, Kabuto only gave you commands and most of mine were "I need you to bring back more prisoners."
"I signed you up to attend Cross Academy and you have been accepted, Now your probably wondering why I would do this, well brother I have become impatient. What your assignment is to go there and slowly gain Kaname Kuran's trust along with the younger vampires.Then I will bring my minions once you have succeeded at that and we will give them a choice join us or die." he smiled looking completely pleased with himself.
I noticed a problem in his plan.
"Brother how will they not know that I work with you here," I asked skeptically.
"You see little brother no one knows that you help me, they never even knew you were born. To them they think you have been fostered by human parents and they think of you as no potential threat," he smirked "So nothing will change you will still be called Hikaru Onizuka and they will think that you have grown up without knowing me."
I remained emotionless, basically he was shipping me off to do his dirty work.
"Can Shito go with me,"I asked.
"Yes the headmaster has made an exception for Shito to go," he answered.
In my mind I was screaming he was granting me freedom in return for taking someone else's.
"Your expected to arrive tomorrow your stuff is already packed get a good night's sleep,"he practically commanded me to do without my consent.
I got up and left and walked down the corridor to my room. All the while my thoughts were telling me this was my chance to escape my brother's clutches and lead the life of a normal vampire. There was no normal for me now I was a borderline vampire how could I possibly be excepted there? And where could I go?
