With getting to watch the new Dragonball Kai as it is posted on the internet every week, I finally took the time to watch Dragonball Evolution today. As a fan of the original manga/anime, I must say I was torn on this one.
Good Points
1. It had great special effects, some of the best I've seen for a kung fu flick.
2. A good storyline, though it could have been a lot better.
3. The introduced Goku and friends into a new generation of fans.
4. They did a great job with the car capsules.
Points that sucked
1. They left out Kuririn. What's up with that?
2. They changed how Goku turned into the gaint monkey. Why?
3. They made Piccolo look week.
Undetermined points
1. They left it open for a sequal.
So overall, you can see why I'm a bit torn on it. By itself, it's a good movie. But with your a fan of the original manga/anime, they changed so much of the storyline that it sucked.
So out of a five star rating, (as a fan of the series) Id give it a 3.
