I just finished reading the said book above.
I got to say that the series has a more detailed complex story than Twilight.
The vampirism is different from the Twilight vampirism and the stereotype vampirims.
The authour was very imaginitive to mix vampires with the classic story of the Mayflower and its people.
In this series, vampires die but they are reborn in another body. They would call it a cycle. The damned angel Lucifer also had a part in this series. He was damned by being a vampire.
Then two non-damned angels chose to become vampires out of love and duty.
One of the angels had a daughter with a human.
Thus braking the bond between the other angel.
I'll stop there because I don't want to spoil it. mrgreen
