This should be interesting since Marriage is what I feel I have been drawn to study most deeply. Now, most of this is going to be scripture that I took almost directly from the Bible, but I have still put it into my own words and thoughts that I would like to now share with everyone.
To even look at a woman lustfully is to be committing adultery in your heart, much less actually committing the act. Keep your mind clean and have pure thoughts or you will be tempted to run into the arms of one that God has not planned for you. This may lead to another form of adultery;
"...anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery."
However, if the woman's ex-husband dies, then the woman is released from adultery, even if she has already remarried. The man that she married is also released.
Continuing on- Marriage after death
There is a story in the Bible about some disciples approaching Jesus with a question. In short: if a woman's husband dies, she remarries, this happens 6 times over, and she does not successfully have any children with any of them...
whose wife is she when we are taken up to the kingdom of Heaven? She is NOBODY'S wife, for man and woman will not be bound in marriage in Heaven.
This brings me to another thought: Marriage, and deciding whether or not to marry?
It is better for a man not to marry so that he may better keep his mind set solely on the purposes of God. However, a man should marry if he feels a burning passion for a woman, so that he may not be driven to insanity.
Nowadays people jump into marriages like it's just something to do on an average Friday night. Thinking about the things previously said in this note, there is a lot of adultery in the world right now. So it is better for a man not to marry...but God also wants us to live together. Nobody should ever go through life alone. Marriage is meant to be an eternal proposal that you may never have to be alone.
When a man and a woman are married, that bond is formed and the two become "of one flesh." To divorce is to tear that flesh and leave a terrible scar. Now, I tell you these things not to criticize, but to instead give you an incentive that you may not fall into your temptations and desires, and find comfort in having patience to follow God's will.
I encourage you to follow these instructions so as to not fall into eternal sin or cause another to stumble in faith ('Do not cause any one of your brothers to stumble in faith, be he Jew or Greek or of the church of Christ')
Again, I would not tell you these things if I did not believe them myself; In my entire life, I have not even so much as kissed a girl, whether it be on the lips, forehead, cheek, or hand. I have never had a girlfriend with which to hold hands. I STAND FIRM in my decision to wait for the one that God has chosen for me.
