“Oh, I’ll go faster!” Izabelle yelled back, pressing her ears tightly aggainst her skull, pulling her tail straight, and getting low to the ground to gain speed.
“And the winner is……”
A single beat of silence.
“KURO!” billowed Sapphire. She was the referee of this little race.
Izabelle sighed, “Wow, didn’t see THAT coming…”
“Oh, stop being a poor sport! You have better endurance than me…. I just run faster in the quick races.” Kuro winked and smiled an evil little smile.
“Yeah? So maybe we should have a long race then.”
“Maybe we should!”
“Guys, shut up!” Sapphire screeched at us.
“Now, we all wanna see you two race again, but it’s late. Kuro only won because she perked her ears before you got ahead, Izabelle.”
“See! I’m faster and I have better endurance! Why are you the leader then!?” Izabelle screamed.
“Because I’m awesome like that...” Kuro whispered under her breath.
“No, it’s because you’re the oldest.” Sapphire said plainly.
“So….where’s…..uh, you know.” Izabelle asked, almost bored.
“Um, I think he’s watching T.V. inside…” Kuro replied, blushing a little.
“Wow, look at your face!” Izabelle laughed, “It’s all red!”
“Shut up!” Kuro yelled ferociously.
“Oh, god…” Sapphire exhaled.
The group of friends started to walk to the military-looking bunk room. The door creaked as they opened it, and [[ ]] was watching T.V. as usual.
“Hey, BABE.” He said sarcastically when Kuro walked into the room.
“Hi, idiot.” She replied, not even a little sarcastic.
“Aw, you two are so cute!” Izabelle said in an almost evil way.
Sapphire and Izabelle walked to their rooms, but Kuro sat down next to [[ ]] on the large couch. They didn’t say a word to each other while they watched T.V. in silence.
The next day…
Kuro woke up on the couch, but [[ ]] wasn’t there anymore. She stretched, pulled on her soft, fuzzy, ears a little, and stretched her tail as far as it could go. A huge yawn escaped her dark-pink lips.
Someone emerged from one of the rooms. It was Sapphire.
“Good morning, Noodles. How was your night?” she said sarcastically, almost taunting Kuro.
“Oh, not so bad. I watched T.V. for about--," she checked the clock, “5 hours.”
“Ah.” Sapphire said, a bit disappointed. The tall, bluegray, wolf was stretching her ears and tail as well.
Another door opened and shut. This time, it was Izabelle. The shorter little fox waved at the two other girls, and walked into the kitchen. Of coarse, she was expecting Kuro to cook again.
“So, where’s breakfast?” she asked Kuro expectantly.
“Oh, um, I haven’t made it yet. I just got up…”
“Okay. Well, hurry up! I’m starving! We didn’t eat dinner, remember?”
