in the shadows
behind a veil
always hiding ashamed that the dream would never come true
throwing up walls of lies to protect my secret
insuring that it was never found
it worked, for a time
then at once my wall fell down
like a pile of leaves in the wind it was all gone now
all that was left was to find out
