I dunno about the rest of you but I can't resist a good ghost story. The sheer thrill of that tingle on your spine, the way you suddenly need to cover your back, the way you're now incredibly sensitive to the built up energy that surrounds you. Whether good spirits or bad, I want to hear about it. If you've got any outstanding ghost stories that you've either witnessed yourself, or have known to be true, please tell me! I'll share one of my own.
This is from my dad, who has witnessed it himself. And although I do believe my dad would make something up like this to spook me, it wasn't very scary as it would need to be. Although I do get spooked easily.
He told me that when he was younger, fifteen or fourteen or around that age, he heard on the radio that it was possible to record things called EVPs that were used as a sort of voice of a ghost. Being the curious and horror-loving guy he is, he had to try it out for himself. He took a tape recorder and a blank tape and shoved it into a brown paper bag. Heading off for a cemetery, he turned it on. Since it was fall, it was only natural for the beginning of the tape to record his footsteps as they walked away and crunched countless leaves. But for the rest of the tape, one could easily hear the ba-bump, ba-bump, ba-bump of a heartbeat. He showed it to his brother and then they got a plan to scare the crap out of his sister at their sleep over. But after that, the tape mysteriously disappeared and was never found since. A coincidence? Maybe. I don't think so. I really want to try this and one day, I will. But I'm not going to let that tape out of my sight.
