Need an opinion for a story I'm writing. I'm writing a romance/adventure from a
guy's perspective in the 2nd chapter (before I group the two main protagonists together) and I want his reaction to be believable, understandable.Even if it is in the "Fantasy" genre.
So guys (preferrably), if you were stranded involuntarily in a dreamworld, and you sense two (real) people--one obviously evil, the other some girl--what do you do? Do you go and check things out, do the hero thing, and/or something like stealing a dragon to wreck havoc on all the "fake people" and towns for fun? What would you want to do in his situation? He's falling through the clouds, giant dragons are swirling around him, and the opportunity to fly to that mountain castle holding the two presences has appeared. What is he thinking?I mean, I know I haven't told you my character's personality yet, but I'm still plotting and want to think from an average guy's POV. This is an adult-ish romance (17-19, young adults), and I'm
adverse to the idea of him
constantly blushing like a schoolgirl as he woos damsels in distress, which I might do if I'm not in the right state of mind. I get carried away sometimes, and when I get carried away my tone gets sarcastic. Bad bad bad...
Well, If it helps, here's the background story: character's
Nathaniel. His world is one of prestige, chivalry, the obscure supernatural, and warriors. Nate's family is small, but has built a reputation similar to a duke's. So, you can imagine how he'd grow up:
arrow Tutored intensely by his father to keep up the (noble) family name and raise his survival chances.
arrow Raised to know how to handle courtrooms and crowd's attention, as well as how to be a
perfect gentleman by his young mother. Yes, his parents are very ambitious. There's
pressure there.
arrow Also understandably talented in his own areas, like learning and adapting fast, he has grown a
dangerous curiosity.
arrow About his ♥-life, he
has flirted (nothing big) and gone on dates before, but he simply couldn't find it in himself to take it seriously. We're talking about women of the nobility, the kind that spend most of their time primping.
Please help.
