The vet sent flowers today...
Why? My dog was 'put down' yesterday... Obake has finally shuffled off this mortal coil. I suppose it's for the best. She was stubborn, disfunctional, constantly in pain, continuously tanked up on water, hairless, miserable, constantly pestered by Freckles, and so on... Still, I miss her.
On the bright side, I no longer have that gate in front of my door, so I can enter and exit without having to step over something as tall as my own legs... The dining room and kitchen no longer have to be blocked off whenever we go anywhere.

Two days ago... She just kind of layed there when daddy told her to get up to go outside. I helped him carry her out to the car and take her to the vet (he lives just down the street). Then, had to go to school...
We were told to leave her overnight, and the next day, before school, My sister, mother, and I went 'to say goodbye.' It's somewhat debilitating to see your dog lying on the bathroom floor sleeping, her water spread out everywhere. She was completely oblivious to the fact that any of us were there, and coulnd't have raised her head if she were awake.
It has a great deal to do with this cold winter weather... Stupid cold joints, creaking, aching... Had it been summer, she might have pulled through... Well, such is life I suppose...

Obake... Though she was 'just a dog,' she was a member of our family, and I shall try to remember her always...
