Ses yeux de rouge tombaient comme mon sang...
Her eyes of red fell like my blood... By Chrono CrowDescription: In this story about a guy and a girl who fall in love unconventionally, the two despair and desperately reach for the only place that can bring them together... where their dreams collide. [ Happy ending! ^u^ ]one : SOMNIUM
Ray Sol had once again fallen deep into the ill, infected part of her subconsciousness as soon as her eyes had closed. Like a dirty rag, she had been thrown carelessly into a dark corner of a frequenting nightmare. Its contents were a labyrinthine construction, surprisingly detailed for a product of her subconsciousness. But then again, she was never as normal as she appeared, and rational dreams weren't a new concept to her. So, perhaps not so weird.
Standing up slowly, Ray examined herself as well as her surroundings with apathy. A flowing, white dress really didn't suit her. Not only was it impractical and hindering her movements, but her black tresses and stony gaze didn't match. She stood out too much. In a grey palace's courtroom like this, with silhouettes of men and women dancing and blending with each other in the tangible shadow, she was a lighthouse piercing the fog.
The courtroom had this one humongous archway that served as the only door to the secluded room. Beyond this was a hall that extended to the left. A chilly breeze swept through it as, on the side opposite of the door, instead of a wall there was an open view like a balcony. There were marble columns holding up the roof instead that interspersed the entire length of the hallway, and to keep people from falling, there were waist-high railings in between those.
Ray could see through the bright archway, over the railings, and to the outside where fluffy white clouds drifted with a stream of steady air sounding. Just how high up was this palace? There were clouds hanging right in front of the balcony!
Well, that explained the cold if they were high in the sky. But there was a lingering feeling of something much more hiding in this creeping cold.
"Why is standing out in a crowd a bad thing, again?" Ray quietly asked The Mind, and it answered obediently for once.
Several things happened in the next couple of seconds. For one, a large figure draped in sharp royal hues stepped out from a position hidden in the grey fog into her view. The look on his handsome face did not seem gentle in any shape or form, though it certainly welcomed her. It was a dangerous expression she didn't want to learn the meaning behind. Ray knew to fear this man.
"The Prince! That's the Prince!" Whispers weaved through the crowd to reach her sensitive ears. "He plans on dancing, at last? He hasn't since a century past!"
He was the very definition of a dark prince. His black hair was cut short and tamed, but it still managed to look somewhat dishevelled. His eyes were an astoundingly morbid twist of black and blue, the colour of bruises, with a fierce look sculpted on his brow. His fancy, ornamented uniform coat and pants were that same blue colour and lined with gold. Overall, it was an intimidating yet cool appearance.
Ray regarded his lax, arrogant demeanour with distrust--especially so when, after carving a path through the crowd, silently offered her his hand. The dancers whispered again, but this time she wasn't listening.
Her senses screamed at her--everything about this man was something she should be escaping from. Her bright-red irises were locked onto his fierce navy ones, though. She watched him while feeling like a cornered animal, and in a way she was. Surrounded by a perfect circle of fog and grey shadows (the dancers), it would be difficult to escape such a powerful man.
But what immediately followed the Prince's outstretched hand was the roar of a giant scaly creature, and it latched onto the balcony with a percussive boom that rocked many off their feet by chance. The only ones that still stood were Ray Sol and the Prince.
The dragon wasn't there to help her from her small plight, but it gave her the chance she wanted! She dashed toward the archway with her heels clicking rhythmically behind her. She didn't dare look behind now, but she had the feeling that someone would be following.
"Catch her!" A low-toned voice bellowed from the courtroom as she escaped. The clanking of metal echoed from deep within that grey room, and she sped up.
She ran into a problem, as she didn't know how to navigate these corridors. Taking chances proved unsuccessful as she ran into dangerous traps with sharp knives and metal teeth that tore her long dress as well as skin.
Her pace was slowing, and the screeching of metal against metal was sounding increasingly closer by the minute. What were her options at this point?
"High up in the sky, I cannot walk on air or fly... If only I had wings..." Ray muttered to herself, "I could solve these stupid things."
It was then she took a long, contemplative look to the open air of the window nearest to her. She came to a decision. Smiling peacefully, she stepped onto the window's ledge and let her body fall forward and plummet through the thick clouds.

I haven't finished yet. Still have the guy's Point of View to do. I'm tired of writing, though. I'll take a break... o(¯~¯)o Not like there's anyone I'm writing it for, anyway.
