Any text bolded within a sentence or paragraph implies that interaction of some sort is possible. Examples will be given for the following paragraph
It's a quiet day at Hawthorne Inn. Outside, the last traces of spring have brought a bitter chill to the air. Inside, a roaring fire in the hearth is heating the room - or at least most of it. The barkeep is nowhere to be seen, but the barkeep's son is dozing at a table in the corner of the room. There's also a young barmaid chatting with a strange man by the fireplace. A mother can be heard - though not clearly - chatting with her child somewhere up the stairs. A sudden gust of wind rattles the door loudly, startling the barmaid, and the strange man laughs at her in a teasing manner.
Persons or "objects" that can be interacted with are the barkeep's son, the young barmaid, the strange man, the stairs, and the door. The people can be approached or studied. If they react to you, you can ask them questions or make small talk; they may ask questions first, and there is a chance they'll become unfriendly if you do not respond. You can study the stairs or go upstairs. You can study the door, open it, or go outside.
