Taste The Flesh by Caitlin Elizabeth Miller

Chapter 1


Leon pushed past the the wreched tree branches as he ran through the Bradstone academy garden.His Tuxedo becoming a mass of shredded fabric. His head throbed and he was bearly makeing his way along. " I need to rest" he wimpered putting his hands on his chest. "Leon" a voice whispered. Horrified he looked back, wide eyed with terror. It was his Beloved, Esme in her white lace bridal gown, the veil not yet lifted from her face.

Yet, he remebered exactly what laid under it. "Dont come any closer!" he shouted stepping back as she stood to meet him. His hands serching for a weapon to cease her with. "Please" she begged holding out her bloody finger tips. "Monster" he shouted running back around the dense academy forest. Terror rained down in his mind creating a ghastly face of fear upon his face. His mouth open wide as Esme came from behind, her veil revealing her beautiful yet deadly face of a deamon.



Hikari hummed along to the soul music of the St.Peters Church counsil playing on the car radio. The Taxi stopped by the broken gates of The Bradstone Academy. "Thankyou" she shouted giving the Taxi driver and fifty dollor bill before she climbed over the rusted black iron gate. Jumping down she ripped a part of her nylon stocking that connected to her old, grey, academy uniform.

The Academy had changed the past five years. In her mind there was bearly a trace of what it used to be. The large town of stone houses were now crumbling as they sunk into the wet earth. Only the long, center house stood standing straight with the rising sun behind it. A sudden wind blew her dark curls in spirals toward the home. Her bright eyes somehow attached to the scenery of the old school.

This reunion was seemingly lonley, no one was here to greet her or was the letter in the mail some kind of joke? "Hello" Hikari called her vpoice trembling, the weather seemed to drop, getting colder. She grasped her purse tighter around her shoulder. "Hello" a voice spoke back, making her jump and her skin crawl. From the shadows of the forest came a man. He wore a mask of seriousness and his eyes were a dark set of curiousity, the sudden change in weather seemed to make his skin pale or was he always like that.

Suddenly, Hikari seemed to remember this man. It was as if a lightbulb went on in her shallow brain. " Fredrick!" she shouted excidedly as she embraced him. She could hardly figure out who he was if not for the long, stringy, black ropes. He had changed os much and yet she still was the same. " I havnt seen you in ages!" she said softly looking up at the changed man. He seemed disturbed, he gave her a nervouse smile as if her presence wasnt counted on.

She ignored this fact and took his hand. " Let us explore!" she shouted giving him a smile that reflected off the sun.
