Into the Dark
“Open me,” said the magical door angrily. “I can't,” I said impatiently. “It's always locked! I tell you that everyday but you never listen.” “Just try it.” said the door solicitously. “Believe t hat it will unlock. For if you do not believe, it will be the same as always.” “As insane as that sounds, I'll try it.” I told the door with a heavy sigh. I turned the knob slowly and believed with all my might that it would open. The door knob click when it was fully turned. The magical door creaked open. “It worked!” I squealed with delight. “See, I told you so.” said the door amused.
I slipped past the magical door curiously, wondering what lay ahead. The door slammed shut behind me and the the darkness of the room enveloped me. I couldn't see anything, for it was pitch black inside.
“Walk forward.” said a deep voice. I jumped up in horror and screamed. I couldn't trace where exactly it was coming from. The voice was still echoing throughout the room, getting softer and softer everytime.
“Who's there?” I asked frightened. “Why should I listen to you?”
“Just do it if you ever feel like going back home.” said the voice starting to get annoyed.
I did want to get home, but I was scared. I mean, who listens to a random voice coming from nowhere. Sure, it may help me, but who's to say that the whatever-it-is isn't trying to kill me?
I stepped forward with a heavy sigh. Wind blew my long brown hair up, it felt as if I was walking on air. My feet couldn't feel anything under me, unless you count the cold hair hitting my feet.
Then it hit me. I wasn't walking, I screamed in panic. I was falling into a bottomless pit of nothing!
“Don't worry, you won't die.” said the voice again. This time it sounded like I was annoying it.
I kept screaming until my throat couldn't scream anymore. All I could feel after I was unable to scream anymore was pain. There was pain in my throat from all the screaming.
'I need water!' I thought to myself. 'My throat hurts! Help me someone! Please.'
I realized soon enough that I was floating now. I had stopped falling a while ago, but I was too occupied with my throbbing throat, which by the way, still hurt.
A sparkling glass door appeared before me. Although it was a glass door, I still could see nothing beyond it. It was dark inside the door, but light seemed to surround the outline of the door.
“Step into the door.” said the voice. “Open it up and be careful what you do inside, for a little mistake can turn into something bad.”
Inside was a garden. It wasn't just any garden, it was the most beautiful garden any existing thing in the world could ever see. Roses, daisies, and many more flowers, of which I couldn't even name, were blooming all around me. Staring into the garden gave me a warm feeling, it felt as if I could stay there forever. All I wanted to do was lay on the grass and sleep with the sun's rays beaming down on me.
As I regained my senses and stopped praising the garden. I came across a beautiful patio set. There were chocolate chip cookies on the table. I pulled the chair back, sat down, and scooched in closer to the table.
I grabbed a cookie and took a bite. As the chocolate chips melted in my mouth, my eyes opened wide and stared at the delicacy that I was holing in my hands. It was incredibly delicious! I ate more and more cookies until my stomach was so full, I thought it would burst open.
“Your stay here is over.” boomed the deep voice, the echo hovering in my ears.
“Why?” I just began to enjoy the cookies!” I replied in a whiny voice. “These are the best cookies I've ever had.”
“No time to protest, you must leave now!”
“But how do I do that? I don't even know the way.”

“Wake up Kaitlyn...Can you hear me? ... Wake up Kaitlyn.” I heard a soft voice whisper to me. My eyes blinked a few times. “Five more minutes mom.” I murmured sleepily. I stretched out one arm and punched the air, bad sleeping habits.
A burst of laughter came from all around me. My eyes opened wide. “Your finally away Ms. Kaitlyn” said my teacher with one eyebrow raised. “Huh?” I just said dumbstruck.
'It was just a dream...' I thought to myself. 'What happened. Did I fall asleep? In class!?!'
“Hi Ms. McLeary.” I said with a nervous laugh.
“I'll let it go this time. Don't fall asleep in my class again. Now go up and read what you wrote.”
“Yes ma'am.” I replied.
'Phew. It was just a dream. I wish I can go back there again. It was a nice happy place. Well, now I have a topic for my story.'
The End.
