Every candle that you blow
Every dandelion that you pick
Every four leaf clover that you show
Is bound to make me sick
Wishes are for fools,
for children and their dreams
Wishes are for innocence
If you know what that means

You could pick off the petals

Evens and odds...depends on what it settles
Every first star in the sky
Every lamp that you rub
Every eyelash that you find

a hopeless thing, that's just for show
