This is a feast for your eyes only...literally, unless you're one of the judges of course.
Ok, so the Asia Pacific preliminaries were already held last week in Kaoshiung, Taiwan, but the North America one hasn't yet, and the date is set for November 17, 2008. So...if you are interested in participating in this delectable competition, then you STILL HAVE TIME!! Hooray! Or you can keep this competition in mind in case you want to do it in the future. You know, career goals, out of interest, yadi yada.
Mission
The International Chinese Culinary Competition is one of a series of international cultural artistic competition sponsored by New Tang Dynasty Television. Its purposes are to promote authentic Chinese culinary techniques, revive traditional Chinese culinary methods as well as carry forward the exquisite traditional Chinese culinary culture and disseminate the orthodox Chinese culinary philosophy. Through demonstration and exchange of culinary skills, the Competition is to help people around the world gain further insight into the characteristics of Chinese cuisine and treasure Chinese culinary culture.

Important dates
The Asia Pacific preliminary will be held on September 20-21, 2008 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The North America preliminary will be held on November 17, 2008 at Aster Center in New York City, USA. The Final will be held on November 18, 2008 at Aster Center in New York City, USA.
Competition Rules
Preliminaries: An assigned dish and an dish of their choice, including preparation, cooking, and delivering the finished plates to the judges, must be completed in a 60-minute time period. Final: Two assigned dishes
And the first place awards? You got it, $10, 000 US with a trophy and a certificate.
