Here's the thing I like best about the Madison comedy scene: everyone in it has their own special comedy-talent, something only they can do like they can do. I, for one, not to brag, am basically the most prolific joke writer in the entire town. I can come up with more new material in a week then I've heard some people ever perform: that's my gift; everyone has their own.
Mike Schmidt, for instance, is everyone's go-to joke consultant: as a trial lawyer by day, he has a great understanding of how to best phrase something for maximum impact, he can always come up with the most twisted reference or take on an idea; he knows how to perfect jokes.
Chris Waelti is better at crowdwork than anyone in town; he comes up with ad-lib, off-the-cuff exchanges with the rowdy drunks at the bars and venues we inhabit that blow my mind.
Mark Kump has some of the best delivery I've ever seen; he's got a style like a psycho Zach Galafianakis, yet he's remarkably consistent.
Sean Moore is our resident chameleon; no one does character work like him.
Adam Waldron has a girlfriend.
...And Dave Labedz thinks I'm funny.
