A traveling man, making his stand. Walking in a village full of shallow simians. "Hey, you!" "Yes You!" He cries to a young lad. "Staring up at me!" "Stop staring you fool!" "I want you to RIDDLE me!" The young boy shrugged his shoulders, without a clue. "You don't understand?" He shook his head. "Oh, we can tell YOU'RE not the smartest man...!" The boy stared at him, and he rolled his eyes in reply. "RIDDLE ME!" The boy was clearly stupified, so AGAIN the man rolled his eyes, giving a sigh. "Ask me a QUESTION!"he cried. "FILL IT with complications and all KINDS of situations!" The boy only stared at him in his stuper. Finally the the man challenged the boy to take him on as his tutor. "Try to CONFUSE me, BOY."he gave a glare. "IF you dare!"then smirked as he notice the boy was near wetting his clothes. "You're shaking in your shoes NOW, just wait for THIS to flare!"he heartily laughed. The boy was only quiet. He simply stared. "I think you'll find you're QUIET the intellectual." The boy was silent, taking in the words of the man contently. "Once you riddle me we'll place you in a level...." He continued to listen. "In this level you shall stay...." "Until one FAITHFUL day, I return to this rugged old land...." "To see if I've STILL the upper hand." The boy now stood, resilient. "Give it your best SHOT, old MAN, I'm a straight 'A' STUDENT." The MAN now stood terrified, seeing he could easily be defeated. The boy gave a grimace, and turned his head. "You did know I'm SEVENTEEN, didn't you, old MAN?"he grinned. "But why? How?" The man was still in shock. "And here is my riddle to YOU, old MAN."he gave a small smile. "What should a boy who's long gone dead riddle an old MAN?" "I'll tell you this, BOY, I SHALT back down!" "Fine by me.THIS is my plan."the boy giggled happily and ran up a tree. "I'm not physically dead. What could possibly be WRONG with me?"he began to stand on his hands. "If it's not on the outside, then what of the inside? What in PARTICULAR, old MAN?" The old man thought to himself for a few minutes. "You must recount to me the day I died still alive, and do not skip a single line!" "Okay, BOY, this suits me fine.I shall return tomorrow night...." The man gave a smirk as he said,"With my answer.EVERY line." "So be it, old MAN, for if I return and you don't make a stand..." "I shall feed you..." the boy's eyes flashed red"...to my friends." The man grimaced, his face so contorted with surprise and shock. "Hehehe!I shall remain in this tree until this next day you return to me." "And if I choose NOT to, BOY?" "I wouldn't risk it: disappointing me, I mean...."he gave a knowing smile. "For what REASON, BOY?" "That's a SECRET, you see!Just appear here tomorrow night old MAN!DO NOT flee!" "I give you my WORD..." The boy scoffed"Words mean NOTHING to me!" "Show it through ACTION that you shant disappoint me!" "Fine.I will be..." The boy stared down uninerestedly. "On this hill, by this tree. When the stars have returned on the day we seek." "Very well, old man.Don't dissapoint me." "I won't.This is a plan." "Tsh.Not interested to understand.Just show UP!You HEAR ME, old MAN?" And so the boy disappeared into the night. The man stayed till the sun had come up.Then jumped up, seeking a place to hide. When the boy reappeared at nightfall, the man had not arrived. "Big surprise" the boy mumbled as he rolled his eyes. He suddenly vanished in thin air, then reappeared at a small town square. The man had fled, sadly enough, to a whole nother region, up in the north. "Old man I TOLD YOU!DO NOT flee! You have NOW disappointed me!" The man looked up in shock, only to see his life flash before his eyes. "Very well BOY, I've lived a good life...." The boy's eyes grew red. He levatated into the air with black flames around his body. He grinned slyly at the old man, whispering eerily. "Old MANNN,you've been quiet NAUGHTY." "You've resisted my restrictions and now you shall bow and apologize to me." But the man did not budge an inch. "What's THIS?A sudden sense of PRIDE!?Please, DESIST!" "You have no honor to PROTECT, old MAN!" "You fleed from your own HOME LAND!" "To run from your fears as I had tried, I suggest you bow!...or, you may RISE..." The man stood up fully from picking herbs in the small field they were there in. "Well boy you're much more dangerous than I'd planned." The boy withdrew a black dagger. "What is your last stand, before I end your prideless life?" "Your inner demons, boy.You let them posses you." The boys was shaken, you could tell by the motion of his weapon. "How did you learn that, old MAN?" "Simple.I'm seeing it right now. It's rather TRIVIAL to ask me how." "You are correct old man, they swallowed my soul...." The boy swung his dagger towards the man. But then allowed it to miss his head. "And now I am alive but dead." The boy then disappeared again. The man looked at the stars. Hearing the voice of the boy whisper through the crisp air of the night sky. "Old man, don't be like me, don't let your demons stay inside." "They'll only eat at your heart alive...." The man stood for a second, gazing STILL at the stars. "I know boy, you've shown me QUIET the art." "But might I ask, who were you BEFORE HAND?" "Just a boy..." the lad said. "Who wanted with all his heart to be a MILITARY MAN." "And so what HAPPENNED, boy?" "They accepted me..." "Then why the dilemma?" "Simple.I thought it would MAKE me a man." "It only made me a DOG, of the government, and tore my heart apart." "I see....and when WAS this?" "At age of seven.Quiet the art, INDEED, old man.I've taught you what NOT to be..." The man listenned intently. "And now it's YOUR turn.Choose CAREFULLY, what you'd like to be." "I know boy....would you like to hear a secret of MINE?" The boy was quiet. "I'M only twenty-FIVE!" "You have your life ahead of you YOUNG man." The boy reappeared, breaking into a smile, almost a laugh. "Don't screw things up and be like me." "The man gave a nod and shook the boy's hand" "And be sure, young MAN, it turns out EXACTLY as you had planned." The boy gave a wink and faded into the twilight. The man gave a happy sigh, and turned to where his future lied. For PHILOSOPHY was his to find.
I keep it all on a healthy level of insanity. And I'm careful not to spread it... Uh,to EVERYONE I meet.
