She stared at him, dumbfounded, he, the man she had married only months ago, who told her countless times before that he loved her now wanted to leave out of the blue.
"W-why?!" she cried desperately, "Was it because you think you tried to kill me? Is that it?!"
She ran to him and clung to his torso. "Please! Please Eldin! Please don't leave me like this!!!"
She was begging him with all her heart, yet, he looked down at her tear-streaked face, and gave her the a small yet completely readable message with his expression: I'm leaving, and there's nothing you can say or do to make me stop.
She stood there, frozen in that small strech of time, horrified as the night Rolace, Eldin's sister, detonated the bomb that killed her parents as well as Eldin's. Including her small little brother.
He gave her a small smile, then grasped her terror-stricken face, and gave her a final kiss. With this, he whispered in her ear, "I love you, Arabella, and I will be back,"
And in a split second, he leaped across the the whole of the lake and disappeared into the thickness of Reia's Wood.
Confused and scared and depressed at the same time, she collapsed on the floor, wept, cried, and called for Eldin.
Into the late night, when a maid came in to clean the spare room, she found Arabella still doubled over on the marble, crying and calling for Eldin. At a loss for the girl, she picked up the small young woman, and carried her back to her royal bedchamber, lay her queen down upon the bed, and silently left the room.
