It was cloudy and gloomy unlike any other day. It seems that the balance of the world has collapsed and there was only one door left. The door of light and darkness. A path leading to both creation and destruction, which is now deserted.
The darkness came closer to the path and I was trapped inbetween. Nowhere to go, I closed my eyes and hoped everything would be alright. The darkness has seemed to swallowed me.
"Ahh the sunlight's already here?" I moaned to myself. That was just a dream? If it was, it felt so real. I dressed up and walked down the corridors to where my first class was. This class was filled with many students, the room fashioned as such any other colleges around the world. While awaiting the teacher, I looked around at how each of the students got along just fine with each other, but I can't get along with any. I felt left out this whole year.
"Everyone, sit down!" Immediately, everyone became quiet and sat down. The teacher walked in quickly, seeming out of breath.
"Teacher, is something wrong?" A student impolitely called out.
"Yes there is, we all need to speed up our classes for there is a battle coming soon." The teacher claims to be fustrated. Maybe because we were all still unskilled, unskilled in many ways with little experience.
Oh have I forgotten to tell you? This school isn't like some high school, its a training facility for war. What kind of high school would train people for war you ask? Well, there are two countries out to get each other. My country, Ephis, is a country of highly skilled wind users. The other country, Seriem, is a country of fire users. This war started from a fight between our kings, which caused one another to betray each other. What kind of betrayal? We aren't told exactly what happened. But this war is important to all of us, each and everyone of this country.
The students in this facility, have their reasons to be here. Some join for fun and excitement, some join to protect, and some join to learn skills. I have entered to protect my family, a sickly mother, a father, and a little brother. I don't want any of them to be burdened by me so I joined to earn money as well as the first reason, to protect.
"Your courses this next week will be brutal and quick, so pay attention to all your classes and do well," the teacher continued on. "If not, we may lose this battle and our will will drop causing us to possibly lose this war. Be on your best. That is all I have to tell you."

Afternoon class, just before our lunch break.
"Sora Nedeon, step up and perform a classic guardian summon immediately," Mr. Rigrad, the summoning teacher commanded. I walked foward and started enchanting my summoning spell. "Release!" A magic circle appears below me and a magnificent blue bird appears before me. I heard some oo's and ahh's forming around me and I quickly became embarrassed. Have I made a mistake? Have I done something I shouldn't have?
My thoughts were quickly interrupted by Mr. Rigrad, "Excellent job, you had no trouble in summoning." I slowly started to smile in relief and desummoned my bird to step back and let Mr. Rigrad evaluate the other students. One by one, each student summoned. Some were horrible, some were good, I couldn't tell because a sudden blur ran across my eyes and I dropped to the floor in dizziness. I heard a couple of voices but, my mind went blank. I just couldn't tell anymore.
---
Gently, I woke up finding myself in a hospital bed in the evening. "Ugh, I feel horrible, but I need to attend to my classes if I'm gonna need to help my family." I lifted the blankets off and walked towards my night class. I slowly walked into the classroom and to my surprise, there were no students. All there was, was my magic teacher, Ms. Alri. As I stood there, I watched her head turn towards my direction and her mouth slowly opening, letting out words.
"Sora, I was hoping you'd stop by here, I have some good news I'd like to tell you," with a gentle smile upon her face. "You have been awarded the position as a solo!"
My face suddenly changed to a quick surprise and I blurted out, "What?! S-Solo?!"
"Yes solo! The superiors decided you have been quite excellent with all your classes and you seem to be able to independently do things yourself. So they're allowing you to do however you can during battle, maybe even command a few of the students, just like a leader!"
"No, no I can't," my face ran pale. "I can't do anything like that."
"Honestly, you have no self confident in yourself do you?" Her tone changed to disappointment. "Accept it and keep moving on foward! Show me a smile."
My mouth slightly grinned. "I know you can do better than that!" Because I didn't want to get into any trouble, I smiled, even if it was lie, I had to.
"Much better, now get to your dorm and get a good night's sleep, I heard you collapsed earlier today."
"Okay, thanks for telling me the news Ms. Alri," I walked towards my dorm room slowly thinking to myself. Maybe this is an opportunity, I can continue to help my family this way. I can help Mom, Dad, and Suki! Yes that's it!
That night, the silence of the night sky allowed me to quickly fall asleep, along with no nightmares involved.

I'll read this maybe sometime after I've gotten over my obsession of Alice in Wonderland.
